A Flock of Tigers by John Finnemore

… was Studio’s entry to the one-act play festivals taking place this March at the Woolstore Theatre in Codford and at Hanger Farm Arts Centre in Totton.

Taken from the radio series Double Acts by John Finnemore, A Flock of Tigers is a warm, funny play about what happens when two strangers meet on the train from London to Oxford in 1934. She wants to talk, he doesn’t, but they find things to say about parenthood, growing up and games of make-believe in a field full of tigers.

Lesley Bates directed and Rachel Fletcher and Paul Chalmers played the travellers.

The news from the Woolstore Theatre in Codford where Studio’s entry was in competition with three other drama companies was that Studio was the overall winner with Lesley Bates picking up the adjudicator’s shield for best direction with Rachel Fletcher as the best supporting actor.   Then, at Totton where Studio was competing against 14 other entries, Studio Theatre was again named overall winner.   Many congrats all round!
