The first Studio Theatre performance since lockdown will be Arsenic and Old Lace by Joseph Kesselring on 20th-25th September. Directed by Anthony Von Roretz. Unfortunately we have had to cancel this run, those with tickets will be contacted on what to do next. We hope to reschedule this production so please wait for updates on our website.
Followed by The Railway Children by Edith Nesbit adapted for stage by Mike Kenny, hopefully with performances on 3-4th and 6-11th December. Directed by Colin Hayman.
With audiences kept away and cast not allowed to meet closely together, over lockdown we took to the sound stage, In December, we released two audio plays, but both written by Charles Dickens: The Signalman; and A Christmas Carol. You can listen to the The Signalman below, and if you are still in a festive mood, click here to listen to A Christmas Carol.
Audio plays are not the only thing we have been doing since March, making use of an unfortunately empty theatre we have been making great progress with the extension. When restrictions have allowed, we have put in a mezzanine level in the new roof space in the wardrobe to fit in even more costumes – this has also allowed our costume team to have a much needed sort out; – we have also painted the new rehearsal room and both dressing rooms. As well as this, the now even bigger workshop is having a make-over with new shelving meaning our wonderful set builders will have a much better and easier time building the first set of 2021 – whenever that may be.
