What’s On?..

Live Performances

Earlier this year, Studio Theatre’s production of Brian Friel’s gentle, touching one-act play won the Totton Festival of Drama. It also scooped the Best Director, Best Actress and Technical Achievement awards. This is our first chance to bring it home to our Salisbury theatre. Find out more here.

Afterplay will have just two performances 15thand 16th October, a later start time of 8pm and tickets at just £8, available from Salisbury Information Centre (tel. 01722 342860) or online.

Followed by The Railway Children by Edith Nesbit adapted for stage by Mike Kenny, hopefully with performances on 3-4th and 6-11th December. Directed by Colin Hayman.

Audio Productions

With audiences kept away and cast not allowed to meet closely together, over lockdown we took to the sound stage, In December, we released two audio plays, but both written by Charles Dickens: The Signalman; and A Christmas Carol. You can listen to the The Signalman below, and if you are still in a festive mood, click here to listen to A Christmas Carol.

Build Back Better

Audio plays are not the only thing we have been doing since March, making use of an unfortunately empty theatre we have been making great progress with the extension. When restrictions have allowed, we have put in a mezzanine level in the new roof space in the wardrobe to fit in even more costumes – this has also allowed our costume team to have a much needed sort out; – we have also painted the new rehearsal room and both dressing rooms. As well as this, the now even bigger workshop is having a make-over with new shelving meaning our wonderful set builders will have a much better and easier time building the first set of 2021 – whenever that may be.
