Youth Theatre with Collabro

Collabro on tour came to Salisbury for a one-off appearance at the City Hall in April 2019. The venue was packed with fans of the former winners of Britain’s Got Talent, keen to hear much-loved musical numbers performed by the four young men. And they weren’t disappointed.

Their full-throated voices did justice to songs ranging from West Side Story to Evita; The Greatest Showman to Les Miserables; Sunset Boulevard to a foot-stomping, effervescent medley of all the Jersey Boys hits which had everyone hoofing it up in the aisles.

After the interval, the twenty members of the youth theatre filed in and accompanied Collabro on two songs, lead by their choir conductor, Nicola McKeown. At the end, one young member, Eleanor Jacobs, was asked to sing a short song – a cappella. What an honour, as she said herself after her performance.

The whole production was West End standard, as befits a show heading for the Albert Hall in London.

What a pleasure to see such professionalism in Salisbury and how special to see our own young talent being part of it.

Les Miserables visit

One of their most successful productions was Les Miserables (Schools Edition) in February 2018. As inspiration, they attended an acting session at the Queen’s Theatre in the West End, as well as a tour of the Theatre before an afternoon performance. Here is an account of their day.
