Monologue Competition 2021

This year Studio Theatre launches its first Monologue competition. We are searching for the best performed monologue (for age categories 12- under 16, 16- under 25, 25 and over) and best overall original monologues. We have a panel of judges who will then create a final 5 shortlist for each of our categories.

The final 5 will then perform their monologues either in person or via zoom (depending on the government restrictions at the time) to a panel of special selected judges on Saturday 6th March who will crown our Monologue 2021 winners. Each winner will receive a prize and all of our finalist’s performances will be recorded and shared via Studio Theatre’s social media platforms.

Your monologue can be contemporary or classical but must follow one of the following themes: Self-Expression, Love, Comedy, Tragedy, or Seasons of the Year.

To take part:

  • You will need to send a landscape recording of you performing your monologue.
  • Each monologue should be no more than 2 minutes long.
  • At the start of your video please introduce yourself, your competition category, the name of your monologue and whom it is written by
  • Submission deadline is Tuesday 26th February.
  • All participants under 18 must have parental approval before entering

Email your submissions to studiomonologuecompetition@gmail.com
